If you are going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, do not even start

Finding the truth, seeing what is real, leading the best possible life with the culmination of enlightenment is what life is all about. However, living the life in such way is not straightforward as you may wish.

I know the exact day when my spiritual journey started... It was January 2nd, 2002. It is the day I started living a conscious life. It is a day responsible for the breakup of my marriage. It is a day of great changes, it is a day I'll never forget.

That night, I came from the New Years party earlier than I had planned and I was on the internet browsing some pages. I came to the Emerald Tablets of Thoth, the Atlantean. I read it and I was fascinated with the language and subject. I had no clue what was I reading. It just sounded so nice.

I , THOTH, the Atlantean, master of mysteries,
keeper of records, mighty king, magician,
living from generation to generation,
being about to pass into the halls of Amenti,
set down for the guidance of
those that are to come after,
these records of the mighty wisdom of Great Atlantis.

I printed the text and then I started to study it. I got books about esoteric philosophy and then other books and books... In my spiritual search I studied Theosophy, Carlos Castaneda, Osho then Gurdjieff, and later Ramana Maharshi and Nisargadatta Maharaj. No one directly told me about these teachers. I found them on my own.

I don't read spiritual books or study anything in the last 8 years. However, I do read before sleep Illusion vs Reality, the book by Ranjit Maharaj, that's it. There is nothing else to be read. At fist you will be deceived by Maharaj's apparent very simple English, very straight to the point, and to make it worse, when you read the transcription, it does seem very simple, and even stupid.

All is illusion, the 'I' is illusion, so whatever the 'I' does is also illusion. Take out the thorn of the ego. Remove the name and the shape and nothing remains. In final Reality there is no 'you', no 'I', no mind and no thought. That is your natural state.

What is awakening?

Awakening is nothing but a complete, thorough understanding. A clear cut understanding of a thing is awakening. Reality is not to be achieved, it is already here. After this thorough understanding, nothing is required.

What we need to understand?

Understand that everything is illusion. Reality is beyond knowledge. Forget everything and immediately you are the Self, in this very moment. There is nothing to reject and nothing to gain because everything is nothing. You are Self without self. Understand that 'myself' is illusion. People don't understand that illusion is nothing. Understand the mind and then it doesn't remain. Not remaining as 'I' is the highest understanding.

Who reaches Reality?

The one who doesn't care about God, who doesn't care for the illusion and doesn't care for anybody. Caring for others has nothing to do with you. One who dives to the depth of the ocean finds the pearl. Go to the depth of yourself and you will find Him.

Why?

Because you don't exist. When you don't exist, then why care for others? Others don't exist. It is your love for the illusion that keeps you away from your own Self. When you see the illusion as an illusion you will stop being fooled by it. This is the true 'understanding'. You are already the Reality. Why waste time running after the unreal?

To be quite honest, the journey toward self-realization is so simple, yet the process of understanding that simplicity is so complicated. For in order to understand the simplicity of what you are, you must see and understand your own mind.

You should first understand that you don't need any teachings, instructions, and guidance from others. You don't need to look at someone who has traveled the path before because each path is unique and no one can give valid and confident advice about how others could travel this same path.

I may say with full conviction that you're a bit naive about spirituality. You are unaware of the many pitfalls possible on this journey. Spiritual awakening is not a happy endeavor. It is a profound and so are the obstacles and possibilities for self-deception.

The spiritual path is the process of cutting through your beliefs, cutting through your paranoia. So it is not a matter of learning the ancient knowledge, the mastery of mysteries but rather of burning out the confusions which you so carefully take care off.

Every month the disciple faithfully sent his Master an account of his progress.

In the first month he wrote: “I feel an expansion of consciousness and experience my oneness with the universe.” The Master glanced at the note and threw it away.

The following month, this is what he had to say: “I have finally discovered that the Divine is present in all things.” The Master seemed disappointed.

The third month the disciple’s words enthusiastically exclaimed: “The mystery of the One and the many have been revealed to my wondering gaze.” The Master shook his head and again threw the letter away.

The next letter said: “No one is born, no one lives, and no one dies, for the ego-self is not.” The Master threw his hands up in utter despair.

After that month passed by, then two, then five months - and finally a whole year without another letter. The Master thought it was time to remind his disciple of his duty to keep him informed of his spiritual progress.

Then the disciple wrote back: “Who cares?”

When the Master read those words a look of great satisfaction spread over his face.

If you are going to walk on spiritual path, go all the way. Otherwise, do not even start!
