The freedom of speech and the expression of different opinions are coming to the end

Today I read the article from CBC News Federal government open to new law to fight pandemic misinformation.

The federal government is considering introducing legislation to make it an offense to knowingly spread misinformation that could harm people, says Privy Council President Dominic LeBlanc.

LeBlanc told CBC News he is interested in British MP Damian Collins's call for laws to punish those responsible for spreading dangerous misinformation online about the COVID-19 pandemic.

What does is it mean "knowingly" spread misinformation?

If I write about coronavirus and pandemia, I use my own investigation done on hundreds of internet pages and youtube videos. I read everything and I form my own opinion about it. Then I write the opinion in my blog. Now, because my opinion is somehow different from the official viewpoint I could be charged of spreading misinformation.

This guy says further:

This is not a question of freedom of speech. This is a question of people who are actually actively working to spread disinformation, whether it's through troll bot farms, whether [it's] state operators or whether it's really conspiracy theorist cranks who seem to get their kicks out of creating havoc.

This is so dangerous and it is just a beginning. What will be next? A law against disinformation about the vaccines and nanochips...

Freedom of speech is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction. The term "freedom of expression" is sometimes used but includes any act of seeking, receiving, and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used.

Freedom of expression is recognized as a human right under article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and it is later modified to allow this situation that we have now.

I remember a great Gurdjieff's quote

One thing alone is certain, that man's slavery grows and increases. Man is becoming a willing slave. He no longer needs chains. He begins to grow fond of his slavery, to be proud of it. And this is the most terrible thing that can happen to a man...

There is no compulsory, mechanical evolution. Evolution is the result of conscious struggle. The evolution of man is the evolution of his consciousness, and 'consciousness' cannot evolve unconsciously.

I am going to leave this world to go its own way. Only as an individual I can accomplish my goal to became enlightenment so I will have that in mind while writing this blog.
