Hello Ashtanga world;
Ashtanga yoga teachers from all around world are coming to Mysore to do
their practice for the large sum of money... They are learning that you jump
when you are ready to jump.
The majority students of ashtanga yoga in Mysore are yoga studio/shala
owners and of course a lot of former dancers with 200 hours of teachers
training program. They are there to be seen and to take a photo with
the Paramguru.

If you are unfamiliar with how to become an Authorized Ashtanga Teacher you should know that you need to practice, practice and practice more. Somewhere around 10 to 15 years in most cases. You have to make multiple trips to KPJAYI in Mysore so that Sharath can remember you.
Actually, at present time I have no clue how to get authorization. The KPJAYI is no more, Sharaswati is giving lectures there while big boss has left the place and opened his wellness center.

Anyway, what are you going to get with ashtanga certification? Just to be overstretched and underpaid.
WANTED!!! WANTED!!! WANTED!!!
An Authorized Ashtanga Yoga Teacher
to lead the Mysore practice
We are looking for an Authorized Ashtanga Yoga teacher, (authorized by Sharath's himself) with at least 10 years experience practicing Ashtanga Yoga, who doesn’t mind teaching 4 hours in the early morning. The ideal candidate is the one who is working on their continuing "ashtanga" education. The candidate must be a gentle but firm, with the heart and soul, the one who love people and it is truly committed, dedicated and humble. We pay $3.99 per head, eg. per number of practitioners who show up in Mysore room.
Once you became the authorized teacher your name appears on the Sharath's list on his website. In order to stay there, you need to maintain a yoga room or shala to allow for daily, preferably morning, Mysore-style practice and you should honor tradition of Ashtanga Yoga, and of course you should continue going to Mysore, India for continuing study with the boss.
Ashtanga yoga is hilarious. In fact, it is the best joke most of us will
never quite get. It’s the funniest thing I have encountered, can you learn
ashtanga in a month? Apparently you can for something less than $5000 and a
little bit of tradition...
Our philosophy is based in tradition. The subject of yoga is vast and worthy of a lifetime of learning. An established personal practice is the most important foundation for the yogi’s journey. You will join a comprehensive program aimed at preparing you for a journey into the dimension of Ashtanga Yoga – as a life style, a world view and potentially a profession...
You will be established in daily practice and technique for the principle postures of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. You will learn classic yogic breathing techniques, the traditional method of Sanskrit Vinyasas counting and fundamental applied anatomy. You will study classic Yoga Philosophy as per Patanjali and learn safe hands-on adjustments of key postures from the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga.
Start Date: July 7, 2023End Date: August 4, 2023 Final morning class. Graduation Afternoon Ceremony.Tuition: $4350. A $850 non-refundable deposit is required on acceptance into the program. (Final payment due by May 31, 2023. A payment plan may be available upon request.)

I have realized that it is important not to give my authority over any so
called Guru.
I admit, I have never been truly open to the guidance of a teacher. I'm
simply not born to be led. You see, no one can tell me what my physical body
can do... in ashtanga there are no shortcuts, I tried it and I broke MCL on
right knee and had all kinds of other injuries... it does not work that way.

My understanding of ashtanga certification program is that in order
to remain on the official authorized/certified teacher list you should:
1. Study regularly at the KPJAYI and pay the
required fees.
2. Teach the method as it is taught at the
KPJAYI and maintain a yoga shala to allow for daily, preferably
morning, Mysore-style practice and should honor Saturdays and the full/new
moon days as rest days.
3. Not offer "Ashtanga Teacher training".
4. Jump and Wave.
There you go...
Follow the leader, leader... follow the leader.. leader! Sorry Sharath, Tim,
Kino and others but I cannot follow where you are walking... Thanks for
invitation.
I'll continue my ashtanga yoga practice... with the song of the day:
