Ready For the Future

I am ready

Nostalgia?

Do you remember time that seems much better than this one, existing now, where your worries and stress were irrelevant? Those are memories that come on your mind in the moment you hear a song or you see an old photograph. The feelings you keep holding so close, the nostalgic reminders of your past, bring a smile on your face. The good old days. 😢

For you, recreating these times prove a failure of the present where your curiosity and drive has died, what is left is just longing for the past.

here and now

Nostalgia is the bittersweet longing for things, persons, or situations of the past - according to Webster's dictionary. It is not an essential part of life,  people like reliving the past but the way in which they remember it.

Nostalgia is a complex lie, an ignorance and blindness.

Nostalgia is not the past because nostalgia is an imagined and distorted past, a tick lens through which you bend and contort memories to fit your whims and desires incorporated neatly into bullshit of your wider stories you tell yourself, stories about when you were younger, stronger, better, happier. Fuck you, you will never be younger than now.

future is for brave people

You indulge in nostalgia. It’s an affliction, a condition, it’s the way you’re wired. The past is not just the past, it has  meaning for that particular moment and no meaning in the present. You are terribly wrong holding your present to justify what went before. Stop being a romantic victim of nostalgia’s dirty lens.

I'm telling you, nostalgia makes you unhappy.
The Greek word for "return" is nostos. Algos means "suffering." So nostalgia is the suffering caused by an unappeased yearning to return. ~ Milan Kundera
Nostalgia is toxic. It removes you from the present, it takes you out of gratitude and mindfulness and plunges you into the movie playing in your head. It has you comparing present to a fabricated and imagined, a fantasy past.

 for you 😝

Fuck nostalgia, be present, here and now... be ready for the future!
