Every day, Sting (he is 70 this year) with his wife or alone does between 60 and 90 minutes of yoga before breakfast. It all started in the late 1980s, when band-mates introduced him to Danny Paradise, a musician and Ashtanga yoga instructor from Toronto.
But yesterday's morning was not a usual Sting's practice. In the early morning, his yoga teacher, Danny Paradise, called him, to ask if he has heard about zmark.ca. That has raised an enormous anticipation to check out the latest posts. According to the reliable sources, Sting has missed yesterday's Yoga practice in order to read zmark.ca blog.
Sting, aka Gordon Sumner, divorced his first wife, actress Frances Tomelty, in 1984, after eight years of marriage, shortly after the birth of his second child. He and his second wife, film producer Trudie Styler, are famous for daily ashtanga yoga practice and the tantric sex carrying on for anywhere from four to nine and a half hours in one go. Stings have four children for their tantric efforts.
Ms. Styler said that it is Bob Geldof to be blamed for her tantric sex secret revelation. Bob and Sting had gone to do an interview with a rock journalist, and the interview turned into a drinking session. At one point, the journalist asked how long they could go for, and Geldof said that he was a three-minute man, while Sting said he could go for hours. And Sting casually asked Bob, "Well, haven’t you heard of tantric sex?" Geldof replied, "No, I fucking haven’t!"
"Sting explained that it is all about being intimate, about caring for your partner, really engaging in intimacy before you, you know…, well, you know, have sex. And that’s the premise of tantra, really. It’s simply engagement with your partner...." said Ms. Styler.
Danny Paradise, Stings first yoga teacher
Anyway, Sting's teacher, who is found responsible for the unimaginable miss of yoga practice, Mr. Paradise, normally lives in Hawaii, and he is one of the world's best-known teachers of ashtanga yoga. But Danny has roots in the North York area of Toronto, where he grew up. It is Mr. Paradise who first showed Madonna the ashtanga moves.
When Sting tried yoga in 1990, he was 38 years old, ran eight kilometers a day and did aerobics. He figured yoga would be easy, even with Mr. Paradise. But "within 20 minutes, he kicked my ass," he has said.
He has been practicing every day since, often under Mr. Paradise's guidance. Ever since... until yesterday... My dear friends as this post may sound subjective and possibly deluded it is here for your fun and enjoyment. 😏
