There is only one requirement for spiritual awakening

Amazing photo, early morning as it is seen from my balcony

Have you ever asked yourself: Why do you live? Why you? Why do you have life? And what for?

It does not matter if you're aware of the highest celestial truths or if you're intelligent enough to grasp the falseness of your world...time flows and it is going away forever. If you have never asked those questions then you are living in ignorance, you're a plain dumb, idiotic and already dead creature. Sorry, nothing personal.

Did you know that human IQ level is falling, from year to year. They say, it's due to the pollution in the environment. Potential causes for this decline include changes in education systems, nutrition, media consumption, use of technological gadgets and other things.

I read on the net,  in 20th century, human intelligence steadily rose. James Flynn, a New Zealand intelligence researcher, was the one who noticed this trend. His research showed human intelligence (according to IQ tests) were rising about 3 to 5 IQ points per decade. And it was going like that all the way to 1975.

Since 1975, there is a reversing trend, namely, a century-long rising intelligence rise, identified as the Flynn Effect, is stopped. Since then, humans are getting dumber and dumber by every generation.

When researchers talk about intelligence, they are referring to abilities to reason, learn, plan and solve problems. I noticed that people who are really highly intelligent at one specific area tend to be good at everything they do. Real intelligence seems to reflect a broad mental capability, the first and foremost an increased awareness of self and surroundings.

I don't think the specialization is intelligence. Some people are particularly good at certain area, mostly by acquired skills, by endless repetitions or by the parrot-type learning. People are maybe good at solving mathematical problems, others are particularly good in spelling the words, or doing some specific craft and so on. That is not intelligence.

And this brings me to the point of this post. For spiritual awakening you need to be intelligent and to have a keen eyes, the capacity to discriminate, to see what is false what is true. You don't need amazing knowledge of the subject, just something what I call that awareness or being awake. That may be called a pure intelligence.

When we hear a news we immediately take it as true, especially if it comes from TV which we still take to be trusted without questioning...

Spiritual awakening is a process of questioning. You investigate the most basic assumptions and you go in direction of inner investigation of your beliefs. First you see what do you believe and then you ask why do you believe such things.

Unfortunately, you will come to conclusion that everything that you believed to be true is actually false and plain wrong. And I mean everything. Starting with your relationship to your kids and parents, a relationship with your partner... and going further to multitude of your different attitudes in relationship with your neighbors, co-workers, your boss and everyone else you come to contact.

The last belief, everyone has, is to be seen as false... it is our very sense of self, the "I AM" sense. We assume or believe we have permanent self which is born in this world and which is going around, moving, laughing and crying. This sense should be seen for what it is. It is a pure imagination, it simply does not exist. It should be clearly seen that it is based on constant stream of thoughts.

These are just words. Spiritual awakening take these words and verify are they true or not. The process of verification, of investigation is called retrospection. When this is done correctly it leaves you without questions, you stay in "I AM" sense without words, and that is called - meditation.

Daily introspection should be done until your mind became clear, keen and intelligible for a finer discrimination. Only then the meditation can be performed.

There is only one prerequisite for spiritual awakening... it is curiosity of "who you are?"... a persistent, child-like curiosity to find out what makes "you" you. That's all.
